PCR stands for "Police Czech Republic," the group for which the CZ75 PCR was originally designed. Nearly identical in size to the CZ 75 compact, the PCR's forged aluminum frame makes it a full 1/4 pound lighter than the CZ75 Compact, making it more comfortable for every day carry.

Designed with a decocking lever, the PCR is intended to be decocked before holstering. The trigger safety, after decocking, is designed to act like that of a double-action revolver. The PCR has no need to flip a safety lever off, and the relatively longer and heavier trigger pull requires the operator to make a conscious decision before firing. The PCR's rubber grips panels, serrated front, and back straps help to increase handling and a loaded chamber indicator helps to inform when the CZ 75 PCR is loaded.
